About
Hey there! I'm a 3rd-year Master's student studying biological anthropology at UNLV. My focus is bioarchaeology with paleopathology. I am currently getting started on my thesis research which entails the commingled skeletal collection from the Bronze Age site of Tell Abraq (in the UAE). Specifically, I will be looking at the subadult population and the high prevalence of sick infants and young children. My research will also incorporate a great amount of cultural comparative data, specifically that of marriage and other cultural practices of Bedouin peoples of the Arabian peninsula.
Beyond bioarchaeology, I also have great interest in forensic anthropology and have had the wonderful opportunity to assist in cases in Minnesota prior to beginning my graduate work. My undergraduate education was at Hamline University in St. Paul, MN, and this is where I became interested in this subfield of biological anthropology.
